ISS STOXX is seeking an experienced and motivated Revenue Accountant to join the Global Finance Team. This role will report directly to the Revenue Manager and be responsible for day-to-day and month-end revenue accounting activities, revenue recognition, contract analysis, reconciliations, and revenue reporting.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Revenue Accounting, strong knowledge of ASC 606 / IFand experience working in a multinational environment. In addition, the candidate should have a passion for process improvement, automation, and leveraging tools such as Power BI, AI-assisted solutions, and advanced Excel to enhance reporting and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Review contract, sales orders, and product setups to ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606 / IF
- Support and monitor recurrent revenue tasks including contract modifications and revenue postings.
- Investigate and resolve exceptions, postponed items, and special transactions.
- Review invoices, credit memos, and customer contracts to ensure accuracy of revenue and deferred revenue balances.
- Perform month-end close activities including revenue accruals, revenue adjustments, and journal entries.
- Prepare reconciliations for revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, contract assets, contract liabilities, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Analyze revenue fluctuations and prepare monthly revenue analytics and management reporting.
- Partner closely with other teams such as Sales Operations, Billing, and Collections on a daily basis.
- Support external audits and provide revenue-related schedules and documentation.
- Develop and improve automated reporting solutions using Power BI, Excel Power Query, Power Automate, AI tools, or similar technologies.
- Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes and improve controls through automation and analytics.
- Support ad hoc projects and management requests as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- 4+ years of relevant accounting or revenue accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of ASC 606 / IFrevenue recognition principles.
- Experience with revenue contracts, deferred revenue, contract assets, contract liabilities, and revenue reconciliations.
- Experience preparing accruals, journal entries, and month-end close activities.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups, and data analysis.
- Experience using Power BI, automation tools, AI-enabled solutions, or process-improvement technologies to increase efficiency and reporting capabilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.
Desired Qualifications
- CA, Inter-CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce and SAP Revenue Accounting Reporting (RAR).
