Job description

The Resident Internal Medicine will support internal medicine patient care, OPD and IPD services, emergency medical support, consultant rounds, treatment monitoring, and documentation at Fortis Hospitals, Mumbai. This requires MD or DNB Internal Medicine qualification with 0–3 years of experience.

• Attend OPD, IPD, ward, ICU, emergency, and assigned internal medicine patients.
• Take patient history, perform clinical examination, and support diagnosis under consultant guidance.
• Assist consultants during rounds, procedures, admissions, transfers, referrals, and discharge planning.
• Monitor vitals, investigation reports, medication response, symptoms, blood reports, imaging, and clinical progress.
• Support emergency management of fever, infections, diabetes, hypertension, respiratory illness, metabolic issues, and general medical conditions.
• Coordinate with nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, ICU, emergency, billing, and administration teams.
• Review abnormal reports and inform seniors about urgent clinical findings promptly.
• Maintain case sheets, prescriptions, progress notes, investigation records, discharge summaries, and handover documentation.
• Counsel patients and attendants under senior guidance regarding medicines, lifestyle, investigations, and follow-up care.
• Follow internal medicine protocols, infection control, patient safety, and hospital documentation standards.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and professional communication.
• Deliver safe, timely, ethical, and patient-focused internal medicine care support.
