Job summary

BITS Pilani, Goa Campus invites applications for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the Department of Mathematics on an NBHM sponsored project titled 'Computation of Generalized Inverses of Tensors and Tensor Decomposition'. The project duration is three years.

Eligibility requires a postgraduate degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics with first class (CGPA 6.5). Strong background in Linear Algebra and Numerical Analysis is expected; MATLAB or MATHEMATICA knowledge is desirable.

Job description

Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Mathematics at
BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus, Goa, for a NBHM sponsored research project titled "Computation of
Generalized Inverses of Tensors and Tensor Decomposition (02011/31/2025NBHM(R.P)/R&D II/ 9831)”.

Broad area of Research : Numerical Linear Algebra

Duration of the project : 3 years

Last date of Application : August 25, 2025

Accommodation: Hostel Accommodation will be provided subject to availability and will be governed by the
rules and regulations of the institute prevailing at the time of joining of the candidate.

Eligibility: Candidates must have a post-graduate degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics with first class
(or at least CGPA 6.5). The candidates should have an excellent academic background with sound knowledge in
Linear Algebra and Numerical Analysis. Knowledge of mathematical software such as MATLAB/ MATHEMATICA,
etc., will be desirable. Preference will be given to the NET/GATE-qualified candidate.

Selected candidate will get a chance to apply for a Ph.D. degree at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus (Rules of
Ph.D. program for BITS Pilani are applicable).
