Jubilant Ingrevia Limited is seeking a Research Scientist- CDMO Agro at its Greater Noida site. You will lead organic synthesis efforts, drive process development, and coordinate cross-functional work to bring projects from concept to commercialization.

The role emphasizes GLP-compliant documentation, rigorous experimentation, and collaboration with R&D and manufacturing teams to deliver cost-effective agrochemical intermediates.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry with hands-on lab experience in CRO/pharma/agrochemical settings.
• Experience with route scouting, GLP practices, and impurity isolation.
• Strong documentation and data analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct organic reactions; optimize conditions and scale-up.
• Lead R&D projects from concept to execution with planning and data analysis.
• Ensure SOPs, GLP adherence, and proper lab documentation.
• Support plant commissioning and troubleshooting; facilitate tech transfer.

The Position

Responsibilities

• Key Responsibility:
  • Ensure cost effective non-infringing route selection, process development of existing and new product. Carry out feasibility, optimization studies, process validation in lab and tech-pack transfer.
  • Designing and conducting experiments involving all types of Organic reactions, characterizing reaction products, and optimizing process conditions.
  • Lead the development of new products from concept to commercialization.
  • Lead R&D projects from concept to execution, including planning, experimentation, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Conduct 2–3 chemical reactions daily.
  • Identify and control critical process parameters to ensure reproducibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and optimize processes for Pharma and Agro Intermediate molecules with quality, cost and sustainability targets.
• Product Monitoring and Support:
  • Provide support for cost reduction initiatives, troubleshooting, performance tests, and the development of new molecules as assigned by the R&D/business group.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Continuous improvement on the key projects to keep them cost competitive.
• Process Review and Scale-Up Support:
  • Prepare SOPs as needed.
  • Ensure that all analysts have read, understood, and signed off on the SOPs.
  • Support plant commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure successful startup and operation.
• Documentation and Compliance:
  • Ensure that all experimental documentation in the lab records (ELN or paper notebook) is completed according to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards immediately after experimentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve product quality.

The Person

Qualifications and Experience

• M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry
• 9-10 years of experience in the field of CRO’s, pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediate development.
• Multi-step synthesis, complex chemistries, pressure reactions, and process development
• Literature search, route scouting, GLP practices, impurity isolation and characterization
• Strong communication and coordination abilities

Professional Skills

• Working exposure in all R&D activities. Carrying out reactions. Preparation of reports. Characterization of compounds using full scope of instrumentation (NMR, LCMS, XRD, SCM, ICP, HPLC, UV-Visible and IR).
• Strong skills in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific documentation.
• Expertise in process optimization, scale-up, and tech transfer.
• Proven track record in the field with extensive knowledge of Organic Chemistry.
• Strong command over recent developments in the relevant field.
• Drive for innovation in product and process development.
