Metaforms in Bengaluru seeks a Research Manager who lives and breathes primary research, turning business problems into sharp questionnaires and translating data into actionable insights.

You will own research quality end-to-end and act as the research conscience for product and engineering teams, shaping AI-powered research tools to reflect rigorous research practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in market research with ownership of questionnaires and insights reports
• Strong grounding in questionnaire design, sampling, and methodology
• Able to write an insights report that tells a story, not just describe charts
• Keen eye for identifying issues in surveys or datasets
• Comfortable saying 'this isn’t good research' to clients or product teams

Responsibilities

• Design questionnaires from a brief: objectives, sampling plan, screener logic, scale choice, routing
• Review and QA questionnaires and data for methodological soundness (bias, leading questions, sampling issues, logic errors)
• Turn survey data into insights reports and decks that present a defensible argument
• Be the domain expert others call on for 'is this research right' across Product, Engineering, AI teams
• Partner with Product & Engineering to ensure AI-powered tools meet research standards
• Test and give structured feedback on new tools/prototypes before they ship
• Train and calibrate other researchers and tech teams on research standards and edge cases

The Role

We\'re hiring a Research Manager who lives and breathes primary research — someone who can pick up a business problem and turn it into a sharp questionnaire, then turn the data back into an insights report a client actually acts on.

You\'ll own research quality end-to-end at Metaforms: designing and reviewing questionnaires, sense-checking data, and building reports that hold up to client scrutiny. You\'ll also be the research conscience for our product and engineering teams — making sure the AI we build actually reflects how good research gets done, not a shortcut version of it.

What You\'ll Do

• Design questionnaires from a brief: objectives, sampling plan, screener logic, scale choice, routing — the full craft, not just clean-up
• Review and QA questionnaires and data for methodological soundness (bias, leading questions, sampling issues, logic errors)
• Turn survey data into insights reports and decks that make a clear, defensible argument — not just banner tables
• Be the domain expert other teams call on for “is this research right” — Product, Engineering, AI teams included
• Partner with Product & Engineering to make sure AI-powered research tools (auto-programming, auto-tabbing, auto-reporting) meet the bar a good researcher would hold them to
• Test and give structured feedback on new tools/prototypes before they ship
• Train and calibrate other researchers and tech teams on research standards and edge cases
  

What We\'re Looking For

Core

• 5+ years in market research, with real ownership of questionnaires and insights reports — not just fielding or coordination
• Strong grounding in questionnaire design, sampling, and methodology
• Can independently write an insights report that tells a story, not just describe charts
• Sharp eye for what\'s wrong with a survey or a dataset
• Comfortable being the person who says "this isn't good research" to a client or a product team

Bonus

• Experience working alongside survey programmers / DP teams
• Hands-on with Excel, PowerPoint, and a BI/viz tool (Tableau, Power BI, Displayr, Crunch.io)
• Curiosity about how AI changes research ops — not required to be technical, just not allergic to it
