Job Designation : Research Intern
Number of Positions : 02
Reporting to : Programme Associate
Duration : 3 months
Purpose:
The intern will contribute todeveloping sector-specific emission factors for MSMEs by:
- Assisting in designingand executing surveys and data collection related to energy use, productionprocesses, and emission profiles of MSMEs.
- Performing literaturereviews to gather existing emission factors and methodologies used for similarsectors.
- Assisting in theanalysis and validation of collected data.
- Supporting the team inreport preparation, presentations, and workshops.
Job dutiesand accountabilities
Research & Analysis:
- Assist in datacollection related to energy use, production processes, and emission profilesof MSMEs.
- Support on-field dataverification for selected MSME units.
- Utilise differenta dvanced data analysis, visualisation, and reporting toolsto identify hotspots (like Excel, Python/R, QGIS/Google Earth Engine)
- Conduct research andanalysis on the current status of MSMEs with respect to environmentalregulations, particularly concerning air pollution and emissions control.
- Utilise knowledge ofboiler operation, efficiency calculations, and fuel consumption patterns tosupport the assessment of emissions from thermal energy processes within MSMEs.
- Develop strategies andframeworks to assist MSMEs in transitioning to cleaner technologies and practices,utilising insights gained from field s urveys.
Selection Criteria
Qualification
- Bachelor’s/Master’s inMechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation & Control /Electrical &Electronics E ngineering.
- Desirable: Experience with GIS packages likeArcGIS or QGIS, Google Earth Engine
- Desirable: Experience in statistical tools anddata representation
- Must have strongcommunication skills for effective, efficient, and adaptive verbal and writtencommunication, and active listening.
- The candidate shouldbe willing to travel.
