Job summary

Scimplify is seeking a Research Chemist – Polymers & Composite Materials to join its R&D team in Bengaluru. You will design, formulate, and characterize advanced polymeric formulations and composites for diverse industrial applications, leveraging expertise in polymer chemistry and material characterization.

The role covers laboratory-scale synthesis, compounding, testing, scale-up, and collaboration with process engineering and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–6 years of relevant experience in Polymer R&D, Composite Materials R&D, Specialty Chemicals, or Advanced Materials.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize polymer and composite formulations to meet targeted performance requirements.
• Conduct laboratory-scale experiments related to polymer synthesis, compounding, blending, and composite fabrication.
• Develop and evaluate thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, biopolymers, fiber-reinforced composites, and specialty materials.
• Investigate structure-property relationships and recommend material modifications to improve performance.
• Perform material characterization and analyze experimental data to support product development.
• Execute application trials, pilot-scale studies, process validation, and scale-up activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, procurement, and business development.
• Support new product development initiatives from concept through commercialization.
• Troubleshoot formulation, processing, and application-related challenges.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, technical reports, SOPs, and intellectual property documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
