Job summary

Teri In is seeking a Research Associate to support sustainable cooling initiatives, policy development, and project implementation. You will conduct technical and market research, analyze cooling policies, and assist in preparing reports, policy briefs, and capacity-building materials for stakeholders.

The role requires 1–2 years of experience and a Master’s degree in a related field, with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex information into clear outputs for workshops

Qualifications

• Master's degree requirements in mechanical/thermal/energy/climate fields; M.Arch (Sustainable Architecture) preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience OR strong academic research/thesis work in cooling/climate.

Job description

Support research, policy development, and project implementation related to sustainable cooling and energy-efficient technologies. Responsibilities include conducting technical and market research, analysing cooling policies and refrigerant transition strategies, compiling and validating data, and contributing to cooling action plans and sectoral strategies. The role also involves coordinating project activities, engaging with stakeholders, organising workshops and training programmes, and preparing reports, policy briefs, and capacity-building materials by translating technical information into clear and actionable outputs.

Qualification

For Research Associate:

• Master-s degree (M.Tech / ME / MSc) in Mechanical / Thermal / Energy / Climate-related fields OR M.Arch (Sustainable Architecture preferred)
• 1-2 years of relevant experience. (or strong academic research/thesis work in cooling/climate)

Skills

• Basic understanding of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) systems
• Familiarity with energy efficiency- cooling technologies- climate change- and GHG emissions
• Exposure to data analysis and technical research
• Strong analytical- problem-solving- and literature review skills
• Ability to synthesise insights with high attention to detail and data accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
