Job summary

TE Connectivity India Pvt Ltd is seeking a mid-level R&D/Product Development Engineer I to deliver innovative, reliable terminal and splice solutions through end-to-end product development and customer-focused engineering. You will work with global stakeholders and drive design, validation, and documentation processes.

The role focuses on designing plastic and sheet metal connectors in Creo, handling engineering changes in Windchill, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while pursuing

Qualifications

• B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 2–5 years of hands-on end-to-end product development experience.
• Proficient in Creo & Windchill; knowledge of manufacturing processes (moulding, stamping, plating, assembly).
• Experience in design of plastic and sheet metal components and in engineering change management.

Responsibilities

• Part of Terminal and Splices (T&S) team of CLS BU.
• Support NPD and sustenance projects (concept generation).
• Create detailed designs and drawings; develop validation/qualification test plans; perform component fit and function analysis.
• Design connector plastic and sheet metal components in Creo applying DFM/DFM principles.
• Manage engineering changes in Windchill and generate product specifications and documents.
• Review dimension/test reports and provide engineering approvals to tools/products.
• Interact with global stakeholders and communicate technical details efficiently.
• Evaluate and handle agency approvals (UL, CSA, VDE) for products.
• Collaborate on continuous improvement using TEOA/Digital methodologies.

Job Overview

Deliver innovative, reliable, and cost-effective Terminal & Splice product solutions through end-to-end product development, customer-focused engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Will be part of Terminal and Splices (T&S) team of CLS BU
• Support NPD and Sustenance project activities like Concept generation
• Concept validation, Creation of detailed designs and drawings, creation of product validation / Qualification test plans, perform component fit and function analysis
• Design of ‘Connector’ Plastic and Sheet metal components in Creo by applying DFM/DFA principles
• Perform Engineering change management in Windchill and create necessary Product Specifications and documents
• Review Dimension/ test reports and provide engineering approvals to Tools/ products
• Should be able to interact with global stakeholder (PM/Sales etc.) and communicate technical details efficiently
• Should evaluate & handle Agency (UL, CSA and VDE) approval requirements for the products
• Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives using TEOA / Digital methodologies

Job Requirements

• B.E / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 2-5 years of hands on experience in End to End product development of Plastic and Sheet metal components.
• Good understanding of various engineering deliverables at different gates during Product development process.
• Experience in reverse engineering an advantage.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (Moulding, stamping, plating and assy)
• Proficient working knowledge on Creo & Windchill.
• Ability to run FEA simulation (Structural)
• Experience in connectors design, Knowledge of wire termination techniques (crimping, soldering, welding etc.) is preferred.
• General knowledge of industry specifications such as UL, IEC, and EIA are desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to communicate Globally at all levels internally and externally
• Must be self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and able to manage projects with minimal supervision.

Candidate Desired Profile

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field or local equivalent.
