Job summary

Medtronic plc in Kochi, India is seeking an Area Manager for Cardiac Surgery to drive sales growth across Kerala and Mangalore. The role involves remote work with frequent field visits to hospitals and surgeons.

You will build clinical and commercial relationships, provide product education, support procedures, and develop account plans to expand therapy adoption. Ideally you bring extensive experience in cardiac surgery or related medical devices and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in related roles with growth in territory sales.
• Combination of education and experience as required: HS diploma with 8+ years, Associate’s with 6+ years, or Bachelor’s with 4+ years.
• Experience in Cardiac Surgery, Cardiovascular, Structural Heart, Perfusion, or related medical devices.
• Degree or certification in Perfusion Technology.
• MBA or master’s in biosciences or engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive territory sales growth by executing account plans and expanding adoption of Cardiac Surgery therapies across assigned hospitals and healthcare institutions.
• Build and maintain clinical and commercial relationships with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, operating room staff, vascular specialists, and procurement stakeholders.
• Provide product education, technical support, and clinical expertise to support safe and effective use of Cardiac Surgery technologies.
• Deliver procedural support during surgical cases, including troubleshooting and follow-up activities to ensure customer satisfaction and therapy adoption.
• Conduct product training and in-service programmes for new and existing customers on assigned therapy portfolios.
• Partner with key implant centers to develop strategies that increase product utilization and support progression toward technical self-sufficiency.
• Gather and communicate market intelligence, customer feedback, competitive activity, and product performance insights to internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer records, inventory-related activities, and territory data within approved business systems.

The position follows a remote work style with frequent field-based customer interaction and approximately 50% travel across assigned accounts, hospitals, and healthcare institutions within the territory.The Area Manager is responsible for driving sales performance, expanding market presence, and supporting clinical adoption of Cardiac Surgery products across the assigned territory.
