Job summary

Capco in Mumbai seeks an experienced Business Analyst to join our global technology and management consulting practice. You will translate business needs into clear requirements, collaborate with stakeholders across banks, insurance and payments clients, and support BRD and UAT activities.

You will drive analytics using Power BI and SQL, manage risks, deliver regular progress reports, and contribute to project success in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Business Analyst experience in BRD creation, documentation, and project coordination.
• Strong tracking and reporting skills with risk management and cross-team follow-ups.
• Experience delivering committee packs, UAT planning, and regular progress reports to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to align project goals and provide proactive support to the PM/team.
• Track milestones and outcomes using RAG status and flag potential risks.
• Drive cross-functional follow-ups to maintain project momentum and deadlines.
• Generate and present status reports highlighting progress, risks, and proposed solutions.
• Prepare and maintain artefacts and documentation with accuracy and clarity.
• Develop and coordinate Business Requirements Documents and drive discussions.
• Attend prioritisation meetings and IT release/scrum calls to provide feedback.
• Challenge inputs from developers and other BAs to ensure feasibility and business alignment.
• Leverage knowledge of financial products and banking tech systems to support investment banking projects.

Experience – 5+ years

Role Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals, and provide proactive support to the Project Manager/team.
• Track and monitor project activities, milestones, and business outcomes using RAG status; identify and flag potential risks ahead of time.
• Drive follow-ups across cross-functional teams, based on requirements and approaching deadlines, to maintain project momentum.
• Generate and present regular status reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress, key risks, challenges, and proposed solutions.
• May be asked to prepare and maintain Committee packs or other ad hoc project artefacts/documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity of information.
• Generation and maintenance of Business Requirements Documents, co-ordinate and drive requirements discussions.
• Attendance at requirements prioritisation and IT release/scrum calls, general understanding of key requirements and provide feedback/input.
• Adopt a Business Analyst mindset to critically challenge inputs and assumptions from developers and other BAs, ensuring feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
• Strong understanding of financial products and technological systems used in the investment banking sector.

Requirements

• Proven Business Analyst experience in Business Requirements Document & other project documentation generation, project coordination, stakeholder management, and supporting project managers.
• Strong tracking and reporting skills using RAG status; ability to manage risks and follow-ups across teams & regions.
• Experience preparing committee packs, UAT planning, and delivering regular progress reports to stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset to challenge assumptions; proactive & motivated individual who is able to take on tasks independently, solid understanding of financial products and technological systems in investment banking.
• Basic proficiency in data tools like Excel/SQL; prior experience in financial services/regulatory capital reporting, JIRA, Confluence, Powerpoint is a plus.
• Strong exposure to Capital Regulatory Reporting, RWA, CVA calculation, previous experience of working on Basel programs (Basel 2.5, 3/4) will be helpful
• Good exposure to financial asset classes (SFT, OTC/ETD, Loans) is highly desired
• 3+ years of hands-on Alteryx/Power BI (ideally both) Designer experience with advanced tool proficiency would be beneficial (as the BA may be called upon to utilise this skillset). This requires
• Strong SQL skills with experience in complex joins, window functions and stored procedures. Experience with banking databases such as SQL Server and data warehouses. Understanding of API integration and web service connections. Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau).
