Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Bengaluru seeks a seasoned WiFi/WLAN Software Engineer to design and develop high-performance wireless networking software for Access Points, Wireless Controllers, and Mesh Networking platforms.

You will implement IEEE 802.11 standards, contribute to protocol modules, and optimize performance across Layer-2/3 networks while collaborating with firmware and kernel teams.

Qualifications

• 6–16 years of experience in Networking or Wireless Software Development.
• Strong programming expertise in C and C++.
• Hands-on experience in WiFi/WLAN technologies and wireless networking products.
• Strong understanding of IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards.
• Experience with Linux application development and system programming.
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, Layer-2, and Layer-3 networking protocols.
• Experience with socket programming, multithreading, and IPC mechanisms.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in networking environments.
• Understanding of wireless performance tuning, roaming, connectivity, and traffic optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain WiFi/WLAN software components using C/C++ on Linux platforms.
• Develop and enhance wireless networking features for Access Points, Wireless Controllers, and Mesh Networking solutions.
• Implement and support WiFi technologies including 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards.

• Develop networking applications using Linux system programming and socket-based communication.
• Troubleshoot complex wireless networking and protocol-related issues.
• Work closely with firmware, kernel, driver, and networking teams to deliver end-to-end wireless solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, feature design, code reviews, and system integration activities.
• Support testing, performance validation, and customer issue resolution.
• Create technical documentation, design specifications, and test plans.

Your Role
