Role Description:

The Staff Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in Thiruvananthapuram, involving home and field visits alongside the medical team. The nurse will support doctors during patient visits and assist in delivering high-quality care to elderly patients in their homes. Responsibilities include recording and monitoring vital signs, assisting with clinical assessments, sample collection and handling, medication-related support as directed by the physician, maintaining accurate patient documentation, and ensuring appropriate infection-control and patient-safety practices. The nurse will also interact directly with patients and their families, help identify changes in clinical condition, communicate relevant findings to the doctor, and support smooth coordination of investigations and follow-up care. The role requires professionalism, compassion, reliability, and the ability to work comfortably in a home-care environment.

Qualifications
  • Valid nursing qualification such as GNM or B.Sc. Nursing, with current registration with the relevant nursing council.
  • Strong clinical fundamentals in patient assessment, monitoring vital signs, documentation, and basic nursing care.
  • Experience with elderly patients or home healthcare is preferred.
  • Competence in phlebotomy and sample collection is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of infection-control practices, patient safety, and basic emergency response.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with elderly patients, families, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently in patients' homes while following established clinical protocols and escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Good organizational skills, punctuality, attention to detail, and willingness to travel for field visits.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, digital forms, WhatsApp, and other technology-enabled clinical workflows.
  • Compassionate, patient, and professional approach to elderly care.
  • Prior hospital, clinic, home-care, or community-health experience is preferred.
