Why this role is worth considering

You will sell technology that powers human connection at scale. Every opportunity is a chance to help organizations create more impactful events, improve how they engage their audiences, and make smarter business decisions.

You will also have the autonomy to operate like an entrepreneur inside a global company. At Cvent, intrapreneurship means thinking boldly, taking considered risks, making decisions with ownership, and acting as if you are building the business yourself.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Own the full sales cycle—from lead generation and discovery through solution demonstration, commercial alignment, negotiation, and close.

  • Carry a quota for New Booked Business (NBB) and build a reliable path to target through disciplined pipeline creation, qualification, progression, and closing.

  • Partner closely with Sales Representatives to convert funnel activity into high-quality opportunities and revenue.

  • Develop and actively pursue a targeted Key Account portfolio, creating clear account plans and points of entry for each organization.

  • Engage stakeholders with an insight-led, consultative approach: uncover business priorities, connect needs to value, and create urgency without creating pressure.

  • Translate Event Cloud capabilities into a story that matters to each customer’s business, operating model, and goals.

  • Forecast opportunities accurately in Salesforce.com and maintain clear, timely visibility into sales activity, risks, next steps, and close plans.

  • Collaborate with Account Management and Client Services to support a strong handoff, protect customer experience, and drive complete customer satisfaction.

  • Bring market feedback, competitive context, and customer insights back to the team to help us continuously improve how we sell and serve.

The kind of person who thrives here

You are likely to do well in this role if you:

  • Learn fast and stay curious. You do not need to know everything on day one; you need the drive to understand the customer, the market, and the product deeply.

  • Think commercially. You can connect a customer problem to business impact, build a value case, and make sound trade-offs.

  • Ask questions that move a conversation forward. You listen for what is said, what is not said, and what the customer is really trying to accomplish.

  • Have sales presence. You can earn credibility with different stakeholders, lead a room, communicate with clarity, and make a recommendation when the path is not obvious.

  • Own outcomes. You take responsibility for the number, the plan, the forecast, and the customer experience—not just the activities around them.

  • Are resilient and resourceful. You can absorb a “no,” learn from it, adjust your approach, and keep creating momentum.

  • Balance ambition with judgment. You are persistent without being pushy, confident without being closed-minded, and competitive without losing sight of the team.

  • Think like an intrapreneur. You see a gap, form a point of view, and take action rather than waiting for perfect instructions.

  • Operate with integrity. You build relationships that last because your word, your preparation, and your follow-through can be trusted.

Here’s What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials.

  • 8+ years of relevant business development, revenue-generating software sales experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in a quota-carrying role with ownership of new business outcomes.

  • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-changing, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Commercial sales exposure and the confidence to engage business stakeholders in value-based conversations.

  • Knowledge of the local territory and the ability to build a thoughtful account strategy.

  • Comfort using Salesforce.com or comparable CRM tools to manage activity, pipeline, and forecasts.

Good to have

  • Experience in one or more of the following: SaaS, mobile applications, analytics, meetings and events, or an adjacent technology category.

  • Strong business acumen, ethics, and high integrity.

  • A track record of learning a complex product or industry quickly and turning that knowledge into customer value.

A note on our culture

The DNA of Cvent is our people. We value diverse perspectives, encourage people to bring their whole point of view to the work, and build teams that learn from one another. Whether you are working with colleagues or customers, we believe better outcomes come from shared connections and different ways of thinking.

If you are energized by meaningful customer conversations, motivated by measurable outcomes, and ready to help shape how modern organizations bring people together, we would love to hear from you.
