Job summary

Anko Sourcing, the exclusive direct sourcing arm of Kmart Group, seeks a senior leader to drive subcontinent-wide supplier strategy and build export-ready partnerships across South Asia. You will oversee a large multi-category sourcing function, shaping governance, and delivering high-impact supplier development programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications preferred.
• 18+ years of experience in sourcing, merchandising, buying, retail, trading office, or global sourcing environments, including significant leadership experience managing large multi-category sourcing teams.
• Proven experience managing and developing supplier networks across the Indian subcontinent and broader regional sourcing markets.
• Demonstrated success in developing suppliers from domestic market manufacturers into export-ready partners serving international retailers and sourcing organisations.
• Strong expertise in supplier management, product development, costing, negotiation, sourcing diversification, commercial decision-making, and strategic sourcing transformation.
• Proven ability to develop sourcing strategies, drive business performance, and manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple functions, geographies, and cultures.
• Strong commercial acumen, executive-level leadership capability, and experience operating in a fast-paced international sourcing environment.

• Develop and execute a subcontinent-wide supplier strategy, with deep understanding of supplier ecosystems across South Asia and neighbouring sourcing markets, beyond India alone.
• Identify, onboard, and accelerate supplier capability development programmes, transforming strong domestic suppliers into export-ready strategic sourcing partners capable of supporting international retail standards and growth requirements.
• Drive regional sourcing diversification initiatives, leveraging supplier networks across the subcontinent to improve resilience, competitiveness, innovation, and supply continuity.
• Establish long-term sourcing partnerships by enhancing supplier maturity, manufacturing capabilities, sustainability practices, compliance standards, and export readiness.
• Act as the General Merchandise Direct Report (GM DR) leader for the sourcing function, providing strategic direction, governance, and execution oversight across categories and sourcing markets.
