Job summary

Cred, operating as prefr from CreditVidya, seeks a senior leader to own collections for the Bengaluru region. You will guide local portfolio performance, lead a multi-disciplinary team, and manage field and calling channels to meet recovery targets.

You will drive strategies, monitor MIS, ensure RBI-compliant processes, and coordinate with operations, risk, and analytics to improve outcomes. A strong, data-driven approach and stakeholder collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in collections, preferably unsecured PL portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of the local collections ecosystem (Bengaluru).
• Experience managing large portfolios, collections teams, and agency partners.
• Strong understanding of recovery metrics and collection strategies.
• Data-driven, results-oriented, and able to diagnose and solve collection challenges.
• Strong understanding of the code of conduct and compliant, customer-centric collections.
• Proficient in the local language and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own collection performance for the assigned geography and buckets; monitor portfolio movement and drive resolution and recovery outcomes.
• Lead, coach, and develop the collections team; set expectations, review productivity and performance, and drive targets.
• Manage collection agencies across the assigned geography; ensure capacity, drive productivity and resolution outcomes, and maintain compliance.
• Own resolution and recovery targets; analyze MIS and metrics, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead implementation of collection strategies across calling and field operations, including tracing and legal recovery.
• Ensure adherence to collection processes, RBI guidelines, company policies, and Code of Conduct; address gaps.
• Ensure disciplined execution of field operations by tracking visits, on-time visits, allocation, and disposition.
• Manage the region cost-effectively and keep collection costs within guardrails.
• Identify geographical, capacity, agency, and portfolio challenges and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with operations, risk, legal, analytics, and strategy teams to resolve dependencies.
• Provide feedback to central strategy and policy teams based on regional challenges and opportunities.
• Participate in hiring and developing collection talent for the region and across other regions as required.

what will you do?
