Job summary

Amazon seeks a Manager III, ACES to drive process excellence across ATS Sort Centers in West India. Leads a team to identify improvement opportunities, deploy Lean methodologies, and deliver measurable impact on safety, quality, productivity, and costs.

Collaborates with Operations, Technology, and other support functions to ensure scalable solutions. Builds standard processes, runs DMAIC/Kaizen projects, and delivers dashboards for leadership reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above required.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques and Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience in operational logistics/supply chain, manufacturing, transportation, or engineering roles.
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process standardization across Sort Centers (Inbound, Sortation, Outbound) using Lean toolkits.
  • Drive medium- and long-term planning for ACES programs and capacity/hiring.
  • Manage ACES team, mentor Lean practitioners, and foster cross-functional collaboration.

Job description

The Manager III, ACES will be responsible for driving process excellence, continuous improvement, and operational standardization across ATS Sort Centers in the West India region. This role will lead a team of ACES professionals to identify improvement opportunities, deploy Lean methodologies, and deliver measurable business impact across safety, quality, productivity, and cost metrics. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Technology, AOP and other support functions to ensure scalable and sustainable solutions.

Key job responsibilities

Process Improvement & Standardization - Drive standardization in all Sort Center processes (Inbound, Sortation, Outbound) leveraging Lean toolkits. Apply a neutral, data-driven approach to deliver world-class safety, customer experience, cost optimization, and operational efficiency. Develop and deploy process standards, facilitate rollout, and provide process knowledge to identify new improvement opportunities. Lead DMAIC/Kaizen projects to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve key operational metrics (TPH, DPMO, CPT%). Establish benchmarking frameworks and drive performance visibility across Sort Centers in the region

Strategic Planning & Execution

Lead medium and long-term strategic business planning for ACES programs deployed across West India Sort Centers. Partner with Operations leadership on strategies for process design, improvement, and stabilization. Define strategy and changes required for new program launches, capacity planning, and hiring. Participate in OP1/OP2 planning and contribute to 3-Year Plan (3YP) development. Manage complex problems/efforts, decisions, and escalations; mitigate long-term risks

Team Leadership & People Development

Influence stakeholder of L4/L5 ACES professionals (ICs and/or Managers). Build a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making within the team. Mentor and develop team members in Lean methodologies and project management. Foster cross-functional collaboration and act as liaison between ACES and Operations teams

Operational Excellence & Change Management

Drive the ACES Continuous Improvement Cycle: Know the Process, See the Problem, Root Cause, Eliminate Waste, Build a Mechanism. Support Sort Center launches and ensure successful deployment of new processes and technologies. Lead change management initiatives for process transformations across the region. Drive standardization of practices, business processes, and reporting with Operations, Finance, and Technology stakeholders. Provide critical strategic inputs to new business initiatives to accelerate targeted innovation

Data Analytics & Reporting

Perform quantitative examination of key process indicators to identify opportunities for process improvement. Own WBR/MBR/QBR documents and drive data-driven reviews with senior leadership. Leverage BI tools (QuickSight, SQL, Excel) for analytics, reporting, and decision-making. Develop dashboards and scorecards to track operational performance and improvement initiatives.

About the team

ATS Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES) enables India Sort Center improvements made on behalf of Amazon customers by supporting the field operators through projects focused on system-driven decision-making, operator tool optimization, and process transformation. We drive standardization efforts, quality improvement, defect reduction, act as liaisons with other functions, provide process skills to the SCs, support SC launches, and run cross-functional projects for successful deployment. ATS ACES is committed to ensuring SCs succeed in scaling operations whilst meeting performance commitments. By continuously sharing knowledge, we influence operations leaders to develop scalable and sustainable solutions and leverage proven methodologies to eliminate waste and reduce variation.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above
  • Knowledge of lean techniques and Six Sigma tools
  • Experience in operational logistics/supply chain, manufacturing, transportation, general management or an engineering role
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in project/program management, supply chain, and/or inventory management
  • Experience in project/program management, Inventory Control, Quality Assurance, or Lean Six Sigma
