• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and property accounting.
• Hands-on with Yardi or similar property accounting software.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting and variance analysis.
• Exposure to audit, tax, lender reporting, and debt compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure GL accuracy and intercompany reconciliations.
• Manage AP, AR, cash balances, debt payments, and investor distributions.
• Review financial reports and budget-to-actual variances.
• Oversee lender reporting, covenant compliance, and reserve packages.
• Coordinate audits and tax activities with external advisors.
• Lead onboarding of new properties/entities and establish controls.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Partner with senior leadership, lenders, auditors, and property teams.
• Identify gaps and drive continuous improvements in processes.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a Regional Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations across a portfolio of properties. The role will be responsible for financial reporting, month-end/year-end close, cash management, audits, tax coordination, lender reporting, and team management while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure GL accuracy and integrity, including balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
• Manage AP, AR, cash balances, debt payments, and investor distributions.
• Review financial reports and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
• Oversee lender reporting, covenant compliance, and reserve draw packages.
• Coordinate audit and tax activities with external auditors and advisors.
• Lead accounting setup and onboarding of new properties/entities.
• Establish and monitor accounting controls, policies, and procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team, ensuring quality, productivity, and timely delivery.
• Partner with senior leadership, property management teams, lenders, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Identify process gaps, resolve accounting issues, and drive continuous improvements.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate/property accounting.

2+ years of supervisory/management experience.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP and property accounting.

Experience with Yardi or similar property accounting software.

Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and variance analysis.

Exposure to audit, tax, lender reporting, and debt compliance activities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to manage multiple properties, priorities, and deadlines.

You Must Have

5+ years of relevant accounting experience.

Real Estate/property Accounting Experience Preferred.

Strong understanding of US GAAP and General Ledger accounting.

Prior experience managing an accounting team.

Hands-on experience with Yardi or equivalent property accounting software.

Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
