Suvita is an impact-driven, evidence-based nonprofit focused on increasing uptake of routine childhood vaccinations in India. Over 4 million children born every year still miss their basic vaccinations in India, leading to far too many vaccine-preventable deaths. We run two rigorously tested, complementary programmes :
SMS reminders: We send personalised SMS messages to caregivers to prompt timely attendance for vaccinations at government clinics.
Immunisation ambassadors: We identify and train local opinion leaders to volunteer as advocates to share vaccination reminders with families in their communities.
Since our founding in 2019:
We reach one in ten children born in India through our SMS vaccination reminders. In partnership with the governments of Bihar and Maharashtra, we’ve reached more than 6 million families with routine immunisation SMS reminders and more than 4 million pregnant women with antenatal care-related SMS reminders.
We’ve enrolled almost 15,000 community influencers as local ambassadors in districts in Bihar and Maharashtra.
GiveWell estimates that our SMS reminders increase vaccination rates by around 2 percentage points at a current cost of $0.40 per child reached in Maharashtra and $1.71 per child reached in Bihar, and the immunization ambassadors program increases vaccination rates by around 7 percentage points and costs $1 to $2 per child reached.
We are partnering with J-PAL to run a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to test our immunisation ambassador model.
Suvita is looking for a dynamic and mission-aligned Recruitment Specialist. This will be an individual contributor role, responsible for planning, assisting, and executing end-to-end hiring for our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys process streamlining and execution, and is motivated to build a strong talent pipeline while ensuring a thoughtful candidate experience that reflects our values.
You’ll also help shape Suvita’s talent brand, explore new talent channels, and refine hiring systems to make our processes efficient, equitable, and human-centered.
This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in both strategy and execution, and is excited to build an exceptional team at Suvita that drives large-scale impact.
In the morning, you review your active hiring tracker and prioritise roles that are time-sensitive to fill. You follow up with shortlisted candidates, schedule interviews with the relevant hiring panel across time zones, and send structured evaluation forms to interviewers to ensure consistent scoring.
By midday, you partner with a hiring manager to refine a JD, after which you post the role across relevant platforms. In the afternoon, you analyse sourcing data to understand which channels have the best conversion rates and identify where drop-offs are happening.
Before closing the day, you send thoughtful rejection emails to candidates not moving forward, ensuring they leave with a positive impression of Suvita. You also block time to improve one part of the hiring system, perhaps refining interview rubrics or building a lightweight dashboard to track hiring metrics.
This role is ideal for someone who sees recruitment not just as filling roles, but as building the backbone of organisational impact. Every hire at Suvita directly influences how many children receive life-saving vaccinations.
You will thrive here if you enjoy both structured systems and human interaction. The work requires rigour in tracking, documentation, and process design, but also empathy, judgement, and strong communication.
This could be a strong growth opportunity for someone who wants to deepen expertise in mission-driven talent acquisition, build hiring systems from the ground up, and play a visible role in shaping organisational culture.
It is particularly suited for someone comfortable owning outcomes independently in a remote, fast-moving environment, while collaborating closely with hiring managers across functions.
