Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking an Engineer/Sr. Engineer – EHS for a project-site role in Chennai. You will monitor daily safety practices, enforce safety rules, and help promote a strong safety culture on site.

Required are a BE in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical and a Diploma/Certification in Industrial or Construction Safety, with 5–8 years of EHS experience in construction projects. The position is on-site, with collaboration across project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) – mandatory.
• Diploma/Certification in Industrial Safety / Construction Safety from a recognized institute preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily construction activities to ensure safety standards and procedures.
• Ensure safe execution of structural works, formwork, reinforcement, finishing, and MEP installations.
• Conduct routine site safety inspections and hazard identification.
• Identify unsafe conditions and implement risk assessments and safe work procedures.
• Enforce PPE use, site safety rules, and compliance with regulations.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety training for workers and staff.
• Assist in incident investigations and preparation of safety reports.
