Job summary

Alstom Transport India Ltd in Saharanpur is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance planning, design change control, and reliability improvements across railway projects. Role requires 4–6 years in railways systems, a relevant engineering degree, and experience with rolling stock and large-scale projects.

• Detect, define, and implement product modifications to improve reliability and serviceability.
• Support the Product Safety Management System to mitigate safety risks.
• Develop and report on LCC models and identify optimization opportunities.
• Lead design reviews and provide customers with detailed technical updates and risk assessments.

Your future role

You'll work alongside a collaborative, forward-thinking, and innovative team of professionals. You'll play a pivotal role in driving the success of engineering projects by ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, technical teams, supply chain, industrial, quality, depot managers, supervisors, and procurement), lead design reviews, and manage configuration and design change processes, among other responsibilities. You'll specifically take care of optimizing maintenance plans using the latest techniques and methodologies, but also manage obsolescence plans and ensure compliance with safety standards.

We'll look to you for:

• Owning and managing the configuration and design change management work package for projects.
• Optimizing maintenance plans by leveraging R&D developments and advanced methodologies like CBM and RCM.
• Analyzing technical performance and setting up improvement plans with clear KPIs and actions.
• Detecting, defining, and implementing product modifications to improve reliability and serviceability.
• Supporting the Product Safety Management System to mitigate safety risks effectively.
• Developing and reporting on LCC models and identifying optimization opportunities.
• Managing technical and operational quality to improve project execution.
• Leading design reviews and providing customers with detailed technical updates and risk assessments.
• Collaborating with partners and stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality project outcomes.
• Escalating critical resource or delivery risks to relevant leadership teams.

• 4-6 years of experience in railways systems or application engineering.
• Knowledge of rolling stock equipment and large-scale projects (over 100,000 hours).
• Experience in product development or management positions (minimum 5 years).
• Understanding of rolling stock maintenance (desirable).
• Familiarity with safety management systems and safety risk assessments (desirable).
• Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and BI/BO tools (desirable).
• Leadership qualities: inclusive, agile, and responsible.
• Skills in project planning, budget management, and team management.
• Technical expertise in maintenance engineering, system integration, and technical documentation.
