Role & responsibilities

A radiographer is an allied health professional who operates advanced imaging equipment (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound) to produce diagnostic images. They prepare patients, ensure radiation safety, and collaborate with physicians to diagnose and monitor medical conditions

Key Responsibilities
  • Image Acquisition: Operate complex medical imaging equipment to capture high-quality, diagnostic pictures of internal body systems.
  • Patient Care: Explain procedures, alleviate anxiety, and position patients correctly to ensure comfort, safety, and image accuracy.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere strictly to radiation safety guidelines (ALARA principles) to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Work alongside radiologists and surgeons, assisting with surgical procedures and providing real-time imaging during interventions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine calibrations, sanitize workstations, and report any malfunctions to biomedical or technical support teams
