Overview
The Radiology Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, preparing patients, operating radiology equipment, and ensuring image quality under the supervision of radiologists. This requires knowledge of X-ray, imaging protocols, radiation safety, patient positioning, and documentation. The candidate will support accurate diagnosis by maintaining patient comfort, following safety standards, and ensuring smooth radiology department workflow.
Responsibilities
- Perform radiology imaging procedures as per doctor or radiologist instructions.
- Prepare patients for X-ray, imaging, and related diagnostic procedures.
- Position patients correctly to obtain clear and accurate diagnostic images.
- Operate radiology equipment safely and according to approved protocols.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and use protective devices for patients and staff.
- Verify patient identity, investigation request, clinical details, and required imaging area.
- Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and safety during imaging procedures.
- Check image quality and repeat images only when clinically or technically necessary.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, readiness, and basic operational checks.
- Record procedure details, patient information, and imaging documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with radiologists, nurses, doctors, and front-office teams for smooth workflow.
- Report equipment malfunction, technical issues, or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist in emergency and inpatient radiology procedures when required.
- Follow infection control, PPE, and biomedical waste management practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient reports, images, and medical information.
