Job summary

ABB Bangalore is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to contribute to the development of instrumentation devices from concept through validation and release. You will work with hardware and software teams to ensure performance, cost and quality targets are met.

You will design, implement, test and document features on real-time operating systems such as ucOS/RTOS/FreeRTOS and Linux, while leveraging DSP/ARM platforms and hardware drivers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering from a reputed University.
• 8 to 12 years of relevant work experience in embedded device software development, preferably in electronic measurement instruments.
• Sound knowledge of C/C++ and DSP or ARM platforms; familiarity with hardware driver development; embedded OS development.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to product development from concept to release in the Instrumentation line.
• Develop and debug embedded software for instrumentation devices with hardware teams.
• Create and maintain documentation, tests, and validation plans.
• Collaborate with product managers and other disciplines to meet functional requirements.
• Apply quality assurance practices early in the design process and safeguard IP.
