Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting for a senior role in cosmetics R&D based in Pune. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Cosmetic Science or related field and bring 12-15 years of R&D experience in cosmetics, with proven expertise in formulation development and leadership of innovation initiatives.

You will oversee clinical studies, stability testing, and regulatory documentation, translating consumer trends into market-winning products while collaborating with production and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or Chemical Engineering.
• 12-15 years of experience in cosmetic/beauty R&D.
• Proven expertise in formulation development and leadership of innovation.
• Experience leading cross-functional scientific teams.
• Experience in translating consumer trends into scientifically backed products.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation and product development for skincare, haircare, and beauty products.

Job Description

• Ph.D. in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Chemical Engineering .
• Expert in cosmetic chemistry, formulation, stability, dermatology & materials.
• Lead formulation and product development for skincare, haircare, and beauty products.
• Develop safe, stable, and high-performance formulations using scientific research.
• Identify and validate innovative actives, molecules, and natural ingredients.
• Oversee clinical studies, stability testing, compatibility, and sensory evaluations.
• Translate consumer trends into scientifically backed product innovations.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, BIS, FDA, ISO 22716, and cosmetic regulations.
• Manage PIF, MSDS, COA, product claims, and regulatory documentation.
• Lead pilot trials, process optimization, and manufacturing scale-up activities.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, and QC to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Drive innovation through advanced formulation technologies and ingredient research.
