Job summary

JobItUs, a global manufacturer, is seeking an enthusiastic R&D Engineer to join our Product Development team in Kolkata. You will develop new products, prepare specifications from drawings, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate has a BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of hands-on experience in product development, costing, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of relevant R&D/Product Development experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in preparing technical specifications from engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of product costing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products and improve existing ones based on customer and market requirements.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOMs, and documentation as per engineering drawings.
• Analyze engineering drawings and ensure design feasibility for manufacturing.
• Work on product costing and cost optimization during development.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, and other departments for smooth development and implementation.
• Support prototype development, testing, validation, and modifications.
• Prepare technical reports, product documentation, and engineering records.
• Participate in value engineering and continuous product improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and quality requirements.
