Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to support advanced analytical work, method development and troubleshooting of ICP-MS, GC-MS, and automated titrators. The role includes mentoring junior staff and ensuring safety and quality standards in the lab.

You will contribute to experiment design, adapt solutions for new challenges, and present findings to internal teams and customers, fostering collaboration and scientific excellence.

The Opportunity:

Contributes to new chemistry, materials, technology and application development projects to facilitate the use of current and new products at existing/potential customers. Develops product application ideas, formulates concepts for testing, and evaluates feasibility to commercialize products and technologies. Adapts and modifies existing solutions to develop alternative approaches for addressing emerging scientific challenges. Applies technical and functional expertise to support experiment and project design, ensuring methodological precision and relevance to applied research & development objectives. Works on complex scientific problems, requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors to generate innovative solutions. May establish experimental approaches for new assignments and provide mentorship or technical guidance to less experienced scientists. Communicates complex scientific concepts effectively, influencing research directions and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Presents analytical findings, project outcomes, and value propositions at internal or customer meetings, industry associations, and conferences.

The Senior Analytical Chemist is responsible for the operation, method development, and troubleshooting of advanced analytical instrumentation includingICP-MS,GC-MS, andautomated titrators. This role ensures the accuracy of trace element and organic compound analysis while mentoring junior staff and maintaining strict compliance with safety and quality standards.(e.g., ISO 17025)
