Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Quality Manager to lead and manage the overall Quality function for our electrical manufacturing operations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring product and process quality, strengthening the Quality Management System, managing customer and supplier quality, driving continuous improvement, and leading the Quality team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control function across manufacturing operations.
- Develop and implement quality strategies, objectives, procedures, standards, and KPIs aligned with business and customer requirements.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and applicable industry standards.
- Ensure effective quality control of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
- Develop and review Quality Control Plans, PFMEA, SOPs, Work Instructions, Inspection Standards, and Check Sheets.
- Drive Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage customer quality requirements and maintain strong relationships with customers on quality-related matters.
- Lead Supplier Quality Assurance activities, supplier audits, supplier performance monitoring, and supplier improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with Production, R&D, Engineering, Purchase, Stores, and other departments to resolve quality and process-related issues.
- Lead internal, external, customer, supplier, certification, and surveillance audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations and non-conformities.
- Monitor and improve key quality parameters such as rejection, rework, First Pass Yield (FPY), customer complaints, process capability, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Oversee inspection and testing activities for raw materials, components, assemblies, and finished electrical products.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and control of measuring and testing equipment.
- Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement preventive actions to improve product and process performance.
- Lead quality improvement and cost-reduction initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Develop, mentor, and manage the Quality team and promote a strong quality-focused culture within the organization.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports, KPIs, improvement plans, and critical quality issues to senior management.
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and compliance with customer, statutory, regulatory, and organizational quality requirements.
- Support new product development and process improvement activities from a quality perspective.
- Take ownership of critical quality issues and provide effective technical and strategic solutions.
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Additional qualification in Quality Management / Quality Engineering will be an advantage.
Experience
- 10-12 years of relevant experience in Quality Management within an electrical/electronics manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in independently managing the Quality function in a manufacturing organization.
- Strong experience in QMS, customer quality, supplier quality, audits, process quality, and continuous improvement.
- Prior experience in a managerial or leadership position is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
- Hands-on experience with 8D, CAPA, RCA, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality processes and inspection/testing methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and handle critical quality issues independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office and quality reporting/analysis tools.
