Job summary

Orient Cables is seeking an experienced supervisor to manage the harness line and drive production targets. You will train supervisors and operators across cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, moulding, and testing, while coordinating daily work orders and material flow.

You will monitor cycle times, ensure compliance with wiring diagrams and crimp specs, and lead in-process quality checks. Strong documentation and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and harness documentation.
• Experience in wire harness or cable assembly manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Assist Production Head in managing harness line operations.
• Train and develop supervisors and operators in cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, moulding, testing.

• Monitor targets, cycle times, and harness assembly efficiency.
• Ensure assemblies follow routing sheets, wiring diagrams, and crimp specs.

• Maintain production records, rejection logs, and NCR documentation.
• Identify and resolve crimping defects, connector failures, and dimensional errors.
• Collaborate with engineering on ECOs and first-article builds.
• Ensure 5S and safety on the harness floor.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Assist the Production Head in managing harness assembly line operations
• Train and develop supervisors and operators in Cutting & Stripping, crimping, Soldering, Moulding (Power cord, BNC & Dc pin) & Testing.
• Plan daily work orders, manpower allocation, and material flow for the harness line
• Monitor production targets, cycle times, and efficiency for harness assemblies
• Ensure assemblies are built in compliance with routing sheets, wiring diagrams, and crimp specifications
• Coordinate in-process quality checks including pull-force tests, continuity tests, and visual inspections
• Maintain production records, rejection logs, and NCR documentation
• Identify and resolve production issues related to crimping defects, connector failures, and dimensional errors
• Collaborate with engineering for design changes, engineering change orders (ECO), and first-article builds

Ensure 5S standards and safety compliance on the harness production floor

Key Deliverables

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and harness assembly documentation

• Thorough knowledge of harness assembly processes including Cable cutting & stripping, crimping, Soldering & Moulding.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and harness drawings
• Knowledge of crimping machine setup and qualification
• Problem-solving capability for assembly and quality issues
• Team leadership and operator training skills
• Good documentation and production reporting skills

Experience

• 3-6 years of experience in wire harness or cable assembly manufacturing
