Elsevier is seeking a Quality Engineer II to design, implement, and run automated tests using Playwright and Selenium. You will work on end-to-end automation efforts across web platforms, ensuring robust test coverage in an agile environment.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of SDET experience, strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, and a hands-on approach to QA methodologies, with a focus on CI/CD and cross-browser testing.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of test automation engineering experience in a software environment.
  • BS Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent degree required.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript for automation scripts.
  • Experience using Playwright and Selenium for end-to-end testing.
  • Familiarity with QA methodologies and BDD with Cucumber in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute automated testing to enable reliable delivery of software products.
  • Ensure testing scope is appropriate for each feature, focusing on automated E2E validation.
  • Build automated solutions for functional and non-functional testing using existing tools and new frameworks.
  • Monitor Production issues and incidents, report results and drive improvements.

This position plans, builds and executes effective and efficient automated testing and monitoring using JavaScript, TypeScript, Playwright and Selenium to accomplish on-time delivery of high-quality software products.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing and executing automated testing to enable successful and consistent delivery of high-quality software products and services.
  • Ensuring the scope of testing is appropriate for each feature and is carried out effectively, using primarily automated end-to-end (E2E) testing with Playwright and Selenium.
  • Building automated solutions for functional and non-functional testing, using available tooling and creating new frameworks where necessary.
  • Monitoring and investigating Production issues & incidents and reporting issues and results accordingly.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of test automation engineering experience, with a strong focus on Software Developer in Test (SDET) roles.
  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript for developing scalable test automation scripts.
  • Knowledge of Playwright and Selenium for E2E testing, including cross-browser automation and API testing.
  • Familiarity with automation testing tools and an understanding of QA methodologies, including BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) with tools like Cucumber.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with experience collaborating in agile environments.
