Job summary

LAWA Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a QC Executive/Engineer to join the Pune quality team. You will inspect FG and plated components, operate optical sorting equipment, and perform dimensional inspections with various gauges to ensure product conformity.

You will coordinate with production and plating vendors, participate in audits, and support CAPA implementations while maintaining IATF 16949 quality standards on site in MIDC JEJURI, Pune.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in quality role.
• IATF 16949 awareness or experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect finished goods (FG) as per drawings, control plans and customer specs.
• Inspect and approve plated components for appearance, coating quality and dimensional compliance after plating.
• Operate and monitor Optical Sorting Machines and segregate defective components.
• Conduct dimensional inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Thread Gauges and GO/NO-GO Gauges.
• Maintain inspection gauges and ensure gauges calibration status and records.
• Prepare inspection reports and quality documentation; coordinate with Production and plating vendors to resolve issues.
• Support internal, process and customer audits; assist CAPA implementations.

Experience:

Qualification:

Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Inspection of finished goods (FG) as per drawings, control plans and customer specifications.
• Inspection and approval of plated components, including visual appearance, plating defects, coating quality and dimensional compliance after plating.
• Operate and monitor Optical Sorting Machines and ensure effective segregation of defective components.
• Perform dimensional inspection using:
• Vernier Caliper
• Micrometer
• Height Gauge
• Thread Plug Gauges
• Thread Ring Gauges
• GO/NO-GO Gauges
• Profile Gauges and other inspection equipment.
• Inspection, identification and maintenance of inspection gauges and measuring instruments.
• Ensure calibration status of gauges and maintain gauge records.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.
• Conduct in-process and final inspection to ensure product conformity.
• Coordinate with Production and Plating vendors to resolve quality issues.
• Participate in Internal Audits, Process Audits and Customer Audits.
• Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain compliance with IATF 16949 quality requirements and shop-floor quality standards.

Desired Skills

• Experience in fasteners, cold forging, automotive, precision engineering or hydraulic components.
• Good knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Hands-on experience with inspection gauges and measuring instruments.
• Experience in finished goods inspection.
• Knowledge of plating inspection and common plating defects.
• Experience with Optical Sorting Machines will be an added advantage.
• Understanding of calibration and gauge management.
• Familiarity with quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, 5 Why and Fishbone Analysis.
• Basic knowledge of IATF 16949 documentation and audit requirements.
