Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and 3-8 years of QA/QC experience. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and NDT certification is preferred. The position is based in Kundli, with a focus on continuous improvement and supplier quality compliance.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in Oil & Gas / Heavy Engineering / Fabrication industry.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) as per ISO 9001.
  • Conduct in-process, final inspection, and quality checks.
  • Prepare quality inspection reports (QIR) and NCRs.
  • Conduct incoming material inspection and vendor audits.
  • Identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to HSE standards.

Skills

Strong knowledge of welding processes and inspection techniques
Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
Familiarity with NDT methods
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong documentation and communication skills
Knowledge of ERP systems

Education

Job Title: Quality Engineer Oil & Gas Industry

Location: Kundli

Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Reports To: Quality Manager / Plant Head

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing, fabrication, inspection, and testing activities comply with applicable quality standards, customer specifications, and statutory requirements in the Oil & Gas sector. The role focuses on maintaining product integrity, reducing defects, and ensuring adherence to API, ASME, ISO, and client-specific standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance & Control
  • Implement and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) as per ISO 9001 and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ASTM, and client specifications.
  • Conduct in-process, final inspection, and stage-wise quality checks.
  • Review and approve inspection reports, test certificates, and manufacturing records.
2. Inspection & Testing
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of components.
  • Coordinate NDT activities (RT, UT, PT, MT) with certified agencies.
  • Verify material traceability and MTC (Material Test Certificates).
  • Monitor hydrostatic, pneumatic, and performance testing.
3. Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare quality inspection reports (QIR), NCRs, and CAPA reports.
  • Maintain quality records for audits and customer review.
  • Ensure proper documentation of weld maps, WPS/PQR, and welder qualifications.
4. Supplier & Vendor Quality
  • Conduct incoming material inspection and vendor audits.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and quality compliance.
  • Raise NCRs for non-conforming materials and follow up for closure.
5. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify root causes of defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Participate in Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Reduce rejection rates and improve process capability.
6. Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards.
  • Support internal, external, and third-party audits.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or related engineering field.
  • Certification in NDT Level II (preferred).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, API 6A / 6D, ASME Section VIII / IX.
Experience Required
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in Oil & Gas / Heavy Engineering / Fabrication industry.
Key Skills
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes and inspection techniques
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
