Role Overview
The role involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality for precision components. The ideal candidate will develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems that meet customer requirements and industry standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100. This position requires a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a strong culture of quality across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement & manage quality systems: develop, document, and maintain quality plans, procedures, and work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
- Inspection & metrology: conduct stage, in‑process, and final inspections using metrology instruments such as 2D height gauge, VMM, air gauge, bore gauge, and surface roughness testers; interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications; identify non‑conformances and collaborate with cross‑functional teams for resolution.
- Root cause analysis & corrective actions: lead RCA for internal rejections, customer complaints, and supplier issues; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using structured methodologies such as 8D, 5‑Why, or Fishbone analysis.
- Production support & quality control: support production teams in verifying patterns, specifications, and construction details; make final quality decisions; drive initiatives to reduce rejections, improve inspection efficiency, and enhance overall productivity; suggest and implement process improvements across functions.
- Supplier quality management: collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming material quality, conduct supplier audits, maintain supplier scorecards, manage supplier non‑conformance and initiate improvement actions.
- Documentation & reporting: prepare and maintain First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), PPAP, control plans, and final inspection reports; maintain comprehensive inspection records and ensure audit‑ready documentation.
- Internal audits & compliance: involve in internal audits, document findings, drive closure of non‑conformities, ensure company‑wide adherence to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Calibration & maintenance of instruments: ensure calibration and upkeep of all quality control instruments to maintain measurement accuracy and reliability.
- Performance monitoring & reporting: track weekly/monthly quality metrics, analyse trends, present reports to management, recommend actions to improve customer quality ratings and reduce rejections.
- Audit coordination: support and coordinate customer or third‑party audits, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Training & team development: identify training needs, mentor quality team members, organize training programs to strengthen quality awareness and competence; lead and motivate the quality team, ensuring cross‑functional collaboration with design, production, and supply chain teams.
- Final packaging check: inspect packaging quality before dispatch to ensure compliance with delivery standards and safeguard product integrity during transit.

Education & Experience
- Education: Diploma (Polytechnic/NTTF/GTTC) or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, or Industrial Production Engineering.
- Experience: 1–3 years in Quality Control and Assurance, preferably within Aerospace or Automotive industries.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of CMM operation and programming (PC‑DMIS) is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as SPC (Statistical Process Control) and MSA (Measurement System Analysis).
- Standards & compliance: exposure to ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards; prior audit experience is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications (Added Advantage)
- Quality Management Certifications: Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).
- Process Improvement Certifications: Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) and/or Lean Manufacturing/Kaizen.
