Job summary

Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (VPG) in Chennai is seeking an Engineer - Quality to strengthen our EMS QA team. You will lead quality activities, drive PPAP and APQP processes, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure zero-defect deliveries.

The role emphasizes PCBA failure analysis, 8D problem solving, and adherence to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF standards. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in EMS QA, strong soldering expertise, and hands-on experience with SPC/MSA and PPAP.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in EMS QA, NPD, and customer quality.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and quality tools.
• Experience with SMT processes and soldering.

Responsibilities

• Enhance customer satisfaction by delivering zero defect products and closing claims.
• Lead quality activities in respective cells and validate QC objectives.
• Ensure PPAP and product/process specifications per PS/EMS norms.
• Drive continual improvement towards IATF/ISO and audits.
• Specialize in PCBA and electronic product failure analysis.
• Support internal/external audits and MTTA improvements.

Major Responsibilities

• Enhance customer satisfaction by delivering zero defect products to customer and follow up of claims till closure
• Perform diagnosis, troubleshooting analysis and RCCA using quality tools, statistical techniques and Focus to implement robust action to reduce scrap cost related to respective cells
• Lead the Quality activities of respective Cells, validate the quality objectives and results of the Cells
• Implement the products and processes specification as per the PS and EMS industries norms.
• New product Qualification & Ensure the customer PPAP approval on time
• Drive process for continual improvement activities towards Integrated Quality Management systems (IATF & ISO) & Customer audits /Internal Audits.

Requirements

• Academic/Professional Education: B.E / B. Tech Electrical & Electronics with 6+ years of experience in NPD, In-process and Customer Quality from EMS industry
• Relevant Experience: 6+ years of experience in Handling EMS QA & Customer complaints Analysis.
• Technical Skills/Knowledge: SMT Process, Expert in Soldering & APQP.
