Job summary

NeoLacta Lifesciences in Jigani (Bangalore) seeks an experienced Assistant Manager Quality to lead the Quality function in a fast-growing healthcare setting focused on human milk-derived products. You will oversee analyses, document controls, and ensure compliance with ISO 22000, GMP, and HACCP, guiding a team in a dairy/pharma context.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Microbiology, or M. Pharm; or B.Tech in Dairy/Food Technology/Science from a Tier 1 institution.
• Minimum 6+ years of direct experience in quality supervision or leadership within dairy, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain Quality Manuals in compliance with ISO 22000, GMP, GLP, and HACCP.
• Lead and manage the quality team while performing analyses of dairy/food/pharma products.
• Ensure plant hygiene and adherence to GMP norms.
• Develop product specifications, process protocols, and analytical methods.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Indian regulations relevant to food and pharma industries.
• Oversee food/drug safety and quality management of raw materials, production materials, and finished goods.
• Conduct in-line quality monitoring during production processes.
• Plan and implement corrective and preventive actions to address gaps in quality targets.

About NeoLacta Lifesciences

NeoLacta Lifesciences is a research-driven company focused on improving access to human milk through a range of 100% human milk-derived products. We are also expanding our portfolio to include products that support comprehensive neonatal care. Operating from a pharmaceutical-grade facility, we process, develop, and test human milk products using cutting-edge technologies and equipment to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. Our proprietary technology enables us to deliver complete nutritional solutions derived entirely from human milk, designed to meet the unique needs of premature infants.

We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 6+ years of experience in the dairy, food, or pharmaceutical industry (Quality function). The role is based at our Jigani facility, and the selected candidate must be willing to work from and travel to this location as required.

Working days: Monday - Saturday (with 2nd & 4th Saturday off)

Key Responsibilities

• Update and maintain Quality Manuals in compliance with ISO 22000, GMP, GLP, and HACCP, ensuring alignment with global standards.
• Lead and manage the quality team while actively participating in physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses of dairy/food/ pharmaceutical products.
• Ensure plant hygiene and adherence to GMP norms.
• Develop new product specifications, process protocols, and analytical methods as required.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of Indian regulations relevant to food and pharma industries.
• Oversee food/drug safety and quality management of raw materials, production materials, and finished goods.
• Conduct in-line quality monitoring during production processes.
• Plan and implement corrective and preventive actions to address any gaps in quality targets.

Skills & Experience

• Educational Qualification:
  • Master’s in Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Microbiology, or M. Pharm; or B.Tech in Dairy/food Technology/Science from a Tier 1 institution.
• Minimum 6+ years of direct experience in quality supervision or leadership within the dairy, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
• Proven experience in maintaining and updating ISO 22000 and FSMS documentation.
• Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, GLP, and global food manufacturing standards.
• Experience in dairy/food/pharma product analysis.
• ISO 22000 / FSSC lead auditor or internal auditor certification preferred.
• Proactive, self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and computer skills, with proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with the Drugs & Cosmetics Act (D&C Act) will be an added advantage.
