Role Overview
We are looking for a hands‑on QC Lead to own end‑to‑end quality assurance across enterprise web applications, mobile applications, APIs, databases and IoT/device-integrated solutions.
The candidate must have strong manual testing expertise, hands‑on automation experience and the ability to introduce AI-assisted testing practices. This is a working‑lead role requiring both technical contribution and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the complete testing lifecycle—from requirement analysis and test planning to release sign-off and production validation.
- Define the test strategy covering manual, automation, API, database, mobile, integration and performance testing.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into test scenarios, test cases and requirement traceability matrices.
- Design, develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web applications, APIs and mobile applications.
- Identify high‑value regression scenarios and continuously increase automation coverage.
- Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines and provide rapid release‑quality feedback.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory and end‑to‑end testing.
- Validate complex workflows involving applications, devices, communication networks, APIs and third‑party systems.
- Perform database testing, backend validation and data reconciliation using SQL.
- Plan performance, load, volume, reliability and failover testing for high‑transaction systems.
- Review automation code, test cases, test evidence and defect reports prepared by the QC team.
- Lead defect triage, perform root‑cause analysis and drive defects to closure with development teams.
- Establish release‑readiness criteria and provide evidence‑based Go/No‑Go recommendations.
- Track defect leakage, automation coverage, test effectiveness and release‑quality trends.
- Mentor QC engineers and build team capability in automation and AI‑assisted testing.
- Coordinate with Product, Development, DevOps, Implementation and Support teams.
Automation Testing Requirements
- Hands‑on experience with Selenium, Playwright or Cypress.
- Experience with Java and TestNG/JUnit, or an equivalent automation stack.
- API automation experience using REST Assured, Postman/Newman or equivalent tools.
- Exposure to mobile automation using Appium or similar tools.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
- Strong understanding of reusable frameworks, page‑object models, data‑driven testing and test reporting.
- Experience integrating automated tests with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Working knowledge of Git and automated test execution in different environments.
- Ability to analyse automation failures and distinguish product defects from script or environment issues.
AI‑Assisted Testing Requirements
- Practical understanding of using AI tools to generate, optimise and review test scenarios and automation scripts.
- Ability to use AI for requirement analysis and identification of missing, duplicate or high‑risk test cases.
- Exposure to AI‑assisted automation tools, self‑healing locators or intelligent test‑maintenance techniques.
- Interest in building an AI‑enabled, continuously improving QC process.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies and defect lifecycle management.
- Strong experience in manual testing of complex enterprise applications.
- Mandatory hands‑on experience in test automation.
- Good knowledge of REST APIs, microservices and distributed application architecture.
- Strong SQL and database‑testing skills, preferably with PostgreSQL.
- Good leadership, planning, communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
- Ability to remain hands‑on while leading and mentoring the testing team.
Preferred Experience
- Testing utility, smart metering, IoT, billing, ERP or other large‑scale enterprise platforms.
- Device‑to‑platform and protocol‑based integration testing.
- Exposure to cloud‑hosted and on‑premises application environments.
- Experience in security, reliability, failover and production‑readiness testing.
- ISTQB or equivalent testing certification is an advantage.
