Job summary

Nineenergy is seeking a Quality Control specialist to join our EV battery pack manufacturing team. You will conduct incoming inspection of cells and materials, run tests for OCV, IR, and capacity, and grade/match cells for pack assembly.

You will also perform in‑process and final QC of packs, maintain records, and drive corrective actions for any non‑conforming lots. A Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/EEE is required, with 3–6 years in lithium‑ion battery QC.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of cell grading, IR/OCV testing, capacity testing, and cell matching.
• Familiarity with LFP and/or NMC cells, BMS basics, and pack assembly processes.
• Working knowledge of AQL sampling, 7 QC tools, and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Carry out incoming inspection (IQC) of lithium cells, BMS, nickel strips, and other battery materials using defined sampling plans.
• Test cells for OCV, internal resistance (IR), and capacity, and grade and bin them into matched groups.
• Define and enforce the grading criteria and matching tolerances used in pack assembly.
• Run and maintain cell grading machines, IR testers, and capacity testers.
• Carry out in-process and final QC of battery packs, including voltage balance, insulation, BMS function, and charge/discharge tests.
• Hold or reject non-conforming lots and raise issues with suppliers.
• Maintain test records and traceability linking cell batches to pack serial numbers.
• Analyse field failures and warranty returns, and drive corrective actions (RCA / CAPA).
• Prepare and improve QC SOPs and checklists, and train line operators on them.
• Share daily and weekly quality reports with management.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience with EV, e-rickshaw, 2-wheeler, or energy-storage battery packs


• Exposure to ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 systems


• Experience setting up a QC process from scratch

Requirements

• Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or EEE


• 36 years of experience in quality or testing in lithium-ion battery pack manufacturing


• Practical knowledge of cell grading, IR/OCV testing, capacity testing, and cell matching


• Familiarity with LFP and/or NMC cells, BMS basics, and pack assembly processes


• Working knowledge of AQL sampling, 7 QC tools, and root-cause analysis


• Good command of MS Excel for test data and reports


• Strong discipline in documentation, and the confidence to stop the line when quality is at risk
