Job summary

Advanced Energy is seeking a Quality Control Engineer II to collaborate with Production, Engineering, and related teams to resolve quality issues in AE processes and at the customer site. You will drive quality improvement activities, manage audits, and ensure processes and products meet AE standards and customer requirements.

Ideal candidates possess experience in manufacturing quality control or engineering, familiarity with SPC, FMEA, DOE, and ISO9001:2015, and the ability to work across

Responsibilities

  • Control manufacturing process and monitor internal and external quality performance; review data with related persons.
  • Coordinate quality improvement activities to ensure process stability and product quality; conduct audits and quality meetings.
  • Investigate quality issues in AE processes and at customers; implement containment and corrective actions; manage Product Hold process.
  • Drive quality standards, manage supplier and internal audits, and interface with customers on quality concerns.
  • Set up process management plans for each product and ensure understanding and adherence.
  • Guide operators and inspectors on quality and workmanship standards.
  • Collect and analyze data to drive improvements.
  • Maintain equipment calibration records and cleanroom environment controls.
  • Perform First Article Inspection and report results to customers as needed.
  • Oversee new product transfer actions and new production line qualification.
  • Support the Quality System setup and maintenance.
  • Adhere to 5S, safety, and confidentiality policies.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Works with Production, Engineering and related department to solve quality issue happened in AE process and customer side, coordinate quality improvement activities in AE both for manufacturing process and product quality, ensure process ability and product quality meets AE standard and customer’s requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Control manufacturing process and monitor quality performance both internal & external, review quality data with related persons regularly.

  2. Coordinate quality improvement activities for process stability and product quality, to implement process audit and hold quality meeting, etc.

  3. Handle quality issue happened in AE process and customer side, implement containment action, investigate the root cause, follow up corrective actions and response to related person/department, and Product Hold process follow up.

  4. Drives quality standards, manages audits, and interfaces with customers on quality concerns.

  5. Set up process management plan for each product and make sure it been understood and followed.

  6. Guide related persons such as operator and inspector on quality standard and workmanship standard understanding.

  7. Data collecting and analysis, and drive improvement with data.

  8. Equipment calibration management, intranet database maintenance and work environment control for ESD and cleanroom of manufacturing plant.

  9. Implement First Article Inspection and submitted result to customer as need.

  10. New product transfer action follow up.

  11. New Production Line qualification.

  12. Support the Quality System setup and maintenance.

  13. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.

  14. Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.

  15. Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.

  • Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (Telephone, PC etc.).

  • Need go the production area frequently.

  • Works in a fast-paced manufacturing/lab environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • English communication skills in verbal and written.

  • Solving problem skills, able to coordinate persons from different departments for quickly solving quality issue.

  • Data analysis ability, able to find potential quality issue as early as possible.

  • Skill of basic quality tools and quality improvement tools such as, SPC, FMEA, DOE, etc.

  • Creative ability, technical skill and independent judgment ability.

  • PC skills, can properly present quality issues and reports with Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Ability to follow equipment calibration requirement and process.

  • Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 requirements and internal auditor certification is preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of ESD & Cleanroom practices.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Have in process quality control or engineering experience, preferably with knowledge of electronic product manufacturing process.

  • The 6-Sigma background is prefered.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor Science in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering is preferred, or college graduation but with five years work experience.
