Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions in Chennai seeks a Quality Manager to develop and maintain the QMS to meet IATF 16949, ISO standards, and product certifications including UL and BIS. The role oversees QA, QC, Supplier/Customer Quality, Laboratory Operations, Product Certification and Continuous Improvement across soldering materials, potting compounds, TIMs, and conformal coatings.

• Master or Bachelor in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with quality management experience.
• Experience as Quality manager or MRM in manufacturing environments.
• Lead auditor certifications (ISO9001, IATF16949) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the QMS per IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
• Lead external and internal audits and surveillance programs.
• Ensure CSR and customer specification conformance across products.
• Drive APQP, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC and MSA.
• Manage lab operations, calibration, and test method establishment.
• Coordinate corrective actions, NCs and CAPAs, and supplier quality.

Who are we looking for?

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO standards, customer requirements, statutory regulations, and product certification requirements including UL and BIS. The role oversees Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, Customer Quality, Laboratory Operations, Product Certification, and Continuous Improvement activities across the manufacturing of soldering materials, potting compounds, thermal interface materials, and conformal coatings.

What will you be doing?

• Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System in compliance with: IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
• Customer Specific Requirements (CSR)
• Ensure process conformity throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead Management Review Meetings.
• Establish quality objectives and monitor performance metrics.
• Ensure effective document and record control.
• Lead external certification audits and surveillance audits.
• Drive implementation and effectiveness of APQP,PPAP,FMEA,Control Plans,SPC & MSA
• Facilitate internal system, process, and product audits.
• Lab management, Establish and maintain test methods.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Experience in the product certifications like UL & BIS.
• Supplier management, IQC and CAR for the issues identified.
• Handle customer complaints, RMA and escalations.
• Lead customer audits (QMS,RBA,Process).
• Coordinate failure analysis activities.
• Ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Monitor quality KPIs.
• NC Management, Change Management, Lab management.
• Lead the Continuous Improvement drive , kaizens, Poke-yoke,Six sigma.

Who are You?

• Master or Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with relevant knowledge in quality management frameworks and work experience as Quality manager or MRM.
• Quality certifications such as lead auditor in ISO9001, IATF16949, Lean Six Sigma black belt would be preferred

What competencies will you need?

• Knowledge of quality standards (ISO9001, IATF16949 & ISO17025)
• Proficient in Data Analysis & Interpretation
• Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills;
• Hands on with APQP,PPAP,DFMEA,PFMEA,CP, MSA,SPC,DOE,8D.
