Job summary

Digital Edge Data Center seeks a seasoned QA/QC lead to drive the implementation of quality and commissioning processes at Navi Mumbai-based green field projects. The role requires coordinating with contractors, suppliers and the internal design/engineering teams to ensure compliance with DE standards and customer expectations.

You will oversee testing, commissioning, IST scripting and audits, while championing health, safety and environmental policies on site.

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate with 10 years of experience in testing and commissioning of large MEP equipment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with a green field data center project.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Define QA/QC requirements for green field DC projects in line with standards and customer requirements.
• Engage, oversee and guide contractors and suppliers on adherence to quality standards.
• Review contracts and supplier QA/QC approach documents.
• Collaborate with design, engineering and consultants to incorporate quality standards at various levels.
• Define and review quality requirements during vendor pre-qualification.
• Review method statements, mockups and samples; approve documents.
• Conduct site audits, visits and coordinate with 3rd party auditors.
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities and approve IST scripts.
• Ensure occupational health, safety, information security and environmental management policies are followed.

What we need:

• Reporting to the AD – Quality & IST, this role will lead the implementation of Digital Edge Standard Quality and Commissioning process . The person should drive the execution team towards quality along with progress understanding customer’s requirement / expectation. The role demands proper Co-ordination with stakeholders, partners, Quality and commissioning consultant to bring the quality culture “First time right” and “Zero defect” product / service. This role will be based at site in Navi Mumbai.

Key responsibilities:

• Define QA/ QC requirements for a green field DC project in line with the DE standards / global best practice / hyperscale customer requirements.
• Engage, oversee & guide contractors / suppliers on adherence to quality standards.
• Review and approve contracts / supplier QA / QC approach document.
• Engage with design, engineering, DE corporate team, consultants etc. to incorporate quality standards at various levels.
• Define & review quality requirements during vendor pre-qualification stage.
• Review and approve various method statements, mockup, sample.
• Establish mechanism for review, conduct audits, site visits, and rectification with suppliers/ contractors.
• Conduct regular site visits & engage 3rd party quality auditors.
• Oversee all testing & commissioning activities.
• Engage with 3rd party commissioning consultants / vendors in defining the T&C scripts.
• Review and define IST scripts.
• Witness all T&C activities, review & certify results.
• Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization.

The successful candidate:

• Engineering graduate with minimum of 1 0 years of experience in overseeing activities in testing and commissioning of large MEP equipment, driving the QA/ QC standards in green field projects of data centers, telecom, large IT / commercials buildings, factories etc.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience with a green field data center project is essential.
• Good technical knowledge of various MEP equipment commissioning activities.
• Good verbal & written communication skills are essential.
• Experience in handling one full IST cycle for large Data center is essential.
• Good interpersonal skills & ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders is essential.
