Job summary

GScale is seeking a senior commissioning leader to own the L0L7 commissioning programme for mission-critical data centers in India. You will manage the methodology, scripts, team and in-house load bank capability from design through handover.

Require 15+ years of data center commissioning experience, hands-on MV/LV switchgear, UPS, DG, ATS, chilled water, BMS/EPMS integration, and proven team leadership. IST campaigns and Tier TIA-942 familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in testing and commissioning of mission-critical facilities.
• Hands-on with MV/LV switchgear, UPS, DG synchronisation, ATS, chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH, BMS and EPMS integration.
• Experience running IST and load bank campaigns on live projects.
• Familiarity with Tier / TIA-942 certification testing and the evidence standards it demands.
• Proven team leadership building a commissioning function.
• Experience in data center MCC/contractor environments or turnkey EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Own the L0L7 commissioning methodology from design-stage requirements to post-handover validation.
• Build and maintain documentation sets: Cx plans, scripts, test procedures, checklists, issue logs.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing; ensure vendors meet specifications before shipment.
• Own functional performance testing including full-load, part-load and failure-mode scenarios.
• Own in-house load bank testing capability and deployment planning.
• Integrate commissioning programme into project schedule and milestone tracking.
• Act as technical counterpart to client's commissioning authority and third-party CxA; manage issue closure.
• Build, train and lead the commissioning team; grow bench strength ahead of pipeline.
• Own L6 turnover and L7 validation, including training and handover documentation.
• Capture lessons learned to reduce recurring defects.

THE ROLE

Commissioning is where GScale's proposition is proved or disproved. You own the function: the methodology, the scripts, the team, the in-house load bank capability and the evidence pack that a client's third-party commissioning agent will scrutinise. Two positions are open, deployed across the project portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the L0L7 commissioning methodology from design-stage commissioning requirements and sequence of operations, through factory witness testing, to post-handover operational validation.
• Build and maintain the full documentation set: Cx plans, scripts, test procedures, checklists, issue logs and turnover packages.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing, and hold vendors to specification before equipment ships.
• Own functional performance testing and Integrated Systems Testing, including full-load, part-load and failure-mode scenarios and cross-discipline failover.
• Own and operate GScale's in-house load bank testing capability equipment, competence, calibration and deployment planning.
• Integrate the commissioning programme into the project schedule from award, and hold the delivery team to commissioning readiness milestones.
• Act as the technical counterpart to the client's commissioning authority and third-party CxA; own issue closure and retest.
• Build, train and lead the commissioning team; develop competence standards and grow bench strength ahead of pipeline.
• Own L6 turnover and L7 operational validation, including operations training and handover documentation.
• Capture lessons learned into design and delivery so recurring defects stop recurring.

EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 15+ years in testing and commissioning of mission-critical facilities, with senior ownership of data center commissioning programmes.
• Hands-on command of both electrical and mechanical commissioning MV/LV switchgear, UPS, DG synchronisation, ATS, chilled water plant, CRAH/CRAC, BMS and EPMS integration.
• Direct experience running IST and load bank campaigns on live projects, and interfacing with independent commissioning agents.
• Familiarity with Tier / TIA-942 certification testing and the evidence standards it demands.
• Proven team leadership building a commissioning function, not only running one.
• Your data center experience is likely to have been built in one of the following environments: a specialist data center MEP or electrical contracting firm; a large-format HVAC or cooling OEM with a projects and turnkey division; or a national EPC or turnkey infrastructure contractor with an active data center portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS

B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Commissioning certification (ACG / BCxA / equivalent) an advantage.
