Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel in Bangalore, India is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer specializing in automation to join our QA team. You will design test plans, develop automation scripts with Playwright and Selenium, and collaborate with product managers and developers to ensure quality and timely delivery.

You'll review requirements, create comprehensive test cases, perform regression testing, and monitor QA metrics while championing best practices in an Agile/Scrum

What You’ll Do

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
• Monitor debugging process results
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of Testing experience (Automation and Manual)
• Proven work experience in Playwright and Selenium
• Understanding of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) scenarios written in feature file format
• Experience & understanding of different types of testing (Functional, Integration, Regression, UAT)
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
• Proven work experience in software development and Quality Assurance
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
