Job summary

Blue Star is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Professional to ensure SOP/ISO compliance through audits across the plant, including IDU, ODU, and coil shop processes. The role involves supporting management reviews, BIS documentation, and leading Six Sigma projects for process improvement.

The candidate should have a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 10–15 years of relevant manufacturing QA experience, and be adept at PFMEA, control plans, and DPV methods to drive first-time-right

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SOP/ISO quality systems and internal audit techniques.
• Experience with manufacturing processes in mechanical product lines.
• Exposure to IS standards for quality in AC components is not applicable here; emphasis on BIS/APQP.
• Hands-on experience with PFMEA, Control Plans and process validation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal quality audits to assure SOP/ISO processes within the plant.
• Assist Quality Head for conducting Management Review Meetings.
• Have knowledge and hands-on experience in manufacturing processes of IDU, ODU, and Coil shop.
• Conduct process audits for the assembly line and coil shop to ensure compliance with the Control Plan.
• Have knowledge of IS standards for AC products and their components.
• Coordinate documentation for obtaining the BIS license for any IS standard and interact with the BIS team.
• Work on Six Sigma projects for resolving critical quality issues and improving quality.
• Manage daily work activities as per TQM methodology.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to fabricated components, powder-coated components, copper components, plastic molded components, and electrical and electronic components.
• Create control plans for manufacturing processes using PFMEA/ PFD and ensure compliance through audits.
• Handle customer complaints through poka-yoke and system improvements by field visits and analysis of defective components/products.
• Analyze component rejection and scrap through problem-solving tools to reduce COPQ.
• Validate process changes by releasing Process Change Notes.
• Conduct ECN reviews with R & D for smooth implementation of engineering changes.
• Coordinate with R & D team for smooth launch of newly developed products by closing pilot lot observations.
• Experience in APQP activities such as FMEA, DFA/DFM, and control plans for new product launch with a first-time-right approach.
• Exposure to BIQ methodology / IMS systems.
