Job summary

Blue Star is seeking a Quality Assurance Professional in Thane to lead supplier QA activities, new supplier and part development, and field reliability analytics. You will drive 8D/RCA investigations and CAPA closures with suppliers and internal teams, ensuring IPC, RoHS, REACH and customer standards compliance.

• BE/B.Tech in Electronics is required.
• 8–10 years of experience in supplier QA for electronics.
• Strong knowledge of IPC, RoHS/REACH and customer standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality management, qualification, audits, and KPI monitoring.
• Own new supplier and part development, PPAP review, and PFMEA alignment.
• Drive 8D/RCA for supplier issues and manage CAPA with internal teams.
• Analyze field failures, warranty data, and customer complaints for improvements.
• Support COPQ reduction and supplier capability development programs.

Job Description

1. Supplier Quality Management
   • Supplier qualification, approval, and periodic re-evaluation
   • EMS / PCB supplier audits (QMS, Process, ESD, IPC compliance)
   • Monitoring supplier KPIs: PPM, NCRs, audit score, delivery quality
2. New Supplier & Part Development
   • SQA ownership for new electronics suppliers and NPI parts
   • Review & approval of PPAP, Control Plan, PFMEA, reliability plans
   • Ensuring compliance to IPC, RoHS, REACH, customer standards
3. Non-Conformance & Escalation Handling
   • Lead 8D / RCA for supplier quality issues
   • Drive CAPA closure with suppliers and internal teams
   • Coordination with Plant, R&D, SCM, IQC, and Suppliers
4. Field & Reliability Quality
   • Analysis of field failures, warranty data, and customer complaints
   • Supplier corrective action for latent and reliability-related defects
   • Validation of corrective actions through testing and audits
5. Cost & Continuous Improvement
   • Reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
   • Supplier yield improvement and defect reduction initiatives
   • Supplier capability development programs

Workload & Complexity Justification

• High supplier base (EMS, PCB, components): 100+
• High technical complexity (PCBA, firmware interaction, ESD sensitivity)
• Frequent engineering changes and new product launches
• Electronics failures have high financial, safety, and reputational risk
