Job summary

TÜV SÜD in India seeks a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Manager to lead QA/QC for civil infrastructure projects, with emphasis on railway and highway works.

You will develop and implement QA/QC systems, review ITPs, coordinate with clients and contractors, and mentor site teams to ensure compliance and timely handovers.

This role requires travel to project sites across Tamil Nadu as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering with 8 years relevant experience.
• Experience in Railway Infrastructure Projects and/or Highway Projects.
• Minimum 3 years experience in QA/QC in construction.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC systems for civil construction projects.
• Ensure activities comply with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Conduct inspections and monitor materials, workmanship, and site activities.
• Review ITPs, Method Statements, Quality Checklists, and related documents.
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants, contractors, and clients on quality issues.
• Conduct site inspections and identify quality issues and NCRs.
• Raise and monitor NCRs and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Review test reports and ensure required material and site testing.
• Maintain quality records and project documentation.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Provide guidance and training on quality standards and practices.
• Ensure timely closure of quality observations and project handover documentation.

Position: Quality Assurance / Quality Control Manager

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or
• Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in the execution of Railway Infrastructure Projects and/or Highway Projects.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance in construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) systems for civil construction projects.
• Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Conduct inspections and monitor the quality of construction materials, workmanship, and site activities.
• Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Quality Checklists, and other quality-related documents.
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants, contractors, and clients on quality-related matters.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify quality issues, non-conformities, and areas for improvement.
• Raise and monitor NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Review test reports and ensure required material and site testing is carried out as per project specifications.
• Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test reports, and other project documentation.
• Support internal and external quality audits and ensure compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure compliance with approved quality procedures.
• Provide guidance and training to site teams on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Ensure timely closure of quality observations and maintain proper documentation for project handover.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes for civil construction projects.
• Good understanding of Railway Infrastructure and/or Highway construction.
• Knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, inspection methods, and quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret civil/structural drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage quality activities independently at project sites.
• Willingness to travel/work at project locations as required.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with hands-on experience in Railway Infrastructure, Highways, Bridges, Roads, Earthwork, Structures, or other large-scale civil infrastructure projects will be preferred.
