Job summary

Progressive Innovators in Kolkata, India seeks an ISO implementation specialist to drive gap assessments, policy development and practical compliance at client facilities. You will train teams, conduct internal and mock audits, and support external certifications to ensure buyer-ready evidence and strong CAPA processes.

The role requires 1–5 years in ISO implementation or factory audits, with solid documentation and communication skills, and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate in Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, Industrial Safety or related disciplines.
• 1 to 5 years of ISO implementation, social compliance, sustainability consulting or factory audits.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and related standards.
• Strong documentation, analytical and communication skills; travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Gap Assessment: Conduct initial gap assessments against ISO standards and sustainability frameworks.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain policies, SOPs, manuals, registers and records.
• Implementation: Ensure practical implementation of standards at client facilities.
• Training & Awareness: Conduct employee training and capacity building programmes.
• Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits, identify nonconformities and facilitate CAPA.
• Project Execution: Complete assigned implementation activities within timelines and milestones.
• Client Coordination: Coordinate with client management and departments for effective implementation.
• Audit Readiness: Conduct mock audits and prepare clients for external certification and buyer audits.
• Audit Support: Support external audits and close out nonconformities.
• Reporting & MIS: Submit daily reports, checklists, progress updates and evidence to Project Manager/CAD.
• Issue Escalation: Report delays, concerns and challenges to Project Manager.
• Continuity & Compliance: Support surveillance audits and continual improvement initiatives.

Role & responsibilities

1. Gap Assessment: Conduct initial gap assessments against applicable ISO standards, social compliance protocols and sustainability frameworks.
2. Documentation: Develop and maintain policies, SOPs, manuals, registers, records and other compliance documentation.
3. Implementation: Ensure practical implementation of applicable standards and compliance requirements at client facilities.
4. Training & Awareness: Conduct employee training, management awareness sessions and capacity building programmes.
5. Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits, identify nonconformities and facilitate corrective and preventive actions.
6. Project Execution: Complete assigned implementation activities within defined timelines, milestones and allocated mandays.
7. Client Coordination: Coordinate with client management, departmental heads and employees to ensure effective implementation.
8. Audit Readiness: Conduct mock audits, verify compliance evidence and prepare clients for external certification and buyer audits.
9. Audit Support: Support external audits, coordinate with auditors and facilitate timely closure of nonconformities.
10. Reporting & MIS: Submit daily visit reports, implementation checklists, progress updates and supporting evidence to the assigned Project Manager and Central Audit Desk (CAD).
11. Issue Escalation: Immediately report project delays, client concerns, implementation challenges and critical compliance gaps to the Project Manager.
12. Continuity & Compliance: Support surveillance audits, recertification, periodic compliance reviews and continual improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification: Graduate or postgraduate, preferably in Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, Industrial Safety or related disciplines.

Experience: 1 to 5 years in ISO implementation, social compliance, sustainability consulting or factory audits.

Technical Exposure: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Sedex SMETA, BSCI, SA8000, WRAP, GOTS, GRS, Higg FEM or equivalent standards.

Key Competencies: Strong documentation skills, analytical ability, factory process understanding, effective communication, client handling and willingness to travel.
