Job summary

Zensar Technologies invites applications for a Backend Tester role. The candidate will bring 4–5 years’ experience in backend testing, strong Unix/Linux command and scripting skills, Python scripting, and SQL proficiency to validate software quality from unit to system level.

They will join a core project team, contribute to automated/manual testing, and support issue resolution and performance considerations, while adhering to Agile Scrum practices and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• 4–5 years of backend tester experience.
• Unix/Linux commands and scripting experience.
• Python scripting knowledge.
• Database knowledge and SQL experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining manual or automated test scripts and tools.
• Experience working with Agile Scrum processes.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and upgrades manual or automated test scripts, utilities, data sets and other programmatic test tools required to execute test plans.
• Work on a core project team alongside software engineers to ensure that quality is built in from the start.
• Support the client reported issues and business to support their queries.
• Performs usability testing for total system performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Effectively communicates testing activities and findings in oral and written forms.
• Controls and manages own daily test activities.
• Supports test lead/Manager to identify risks and develops mitigation strategies.
• Experience and use of quality management methods, tools and technology used to create and support defect-free application software that meets needs of client/business partner.
• Agile Scrum process and Exposure to Safe and Value Stream.
• Advantage to have exposure and experience in other Test Management tools (Jira, Zephyr Scale, wiki).
• Should have good communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
