Job summary

ALTEN India seeks a Software Test Engineer with 1–2 years of experience to contribute to functional, regression, and integration testing, defect analysis, and quality reporting. The role involves reproducing defects, validating fixes, and supporting release readiness across applications.

You will collaborate with developers, analysts, and product owners to understand requirements, design test cases, maintain test data, and provide clear test execution reports, helping improve testing processes

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in software testing.
• Experience in functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Ability to reproduce, analyze defects and validate fixes.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing of applications.
• Log, track, prioritize, and follow up on defects using JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Retest defect fixes and verify that issues are completely resolved.
• Execute regression testing to ensure new changes do not impact existing functionality.
• Perform integration validation across applications, services, APIs, or connected components.
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test scenarios, test data, and test execution reports.
• Collect and maintain release evidence including test results, defect status, screenshots/logs, and validation records.
• Support release readiness activities by providing quality status and test execution reports.
• Identify quality risks, recurring defects, and gaps in test coverage.
• Collaborate with developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve defects.
• Participate in defect triage, release discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Ensure testing activities are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and practices.
