Job summary

DexCare is seeking a Software Developer in Test to extend and maintain the automation framework, create, maintain, and execute automated test cases for existing and new scenarios. You will help ensure quality across API and UI layers with a focus on breaking and validating software using automation.

You’ll work with an engineering team to define testing strategies, contribute to the automation framework, and apply TypeScript/JavaScript skills, CI/CD practices, and GitHub Actions to deliver

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of QA/SDET experience.
• Experience building/maintaining automation for API and UI tests.
• Creates and executes test plans and test cases.
• Root Cause Analysis and defect tracking in JIRA.
• Proficient with white-box testing.

Responsibilities

About the Role

DexCare is looking for a software developer in Test. Within this role, you’ll be focused on understanding how our customers use the platform, and you will be dedicated to extending and contributing to the automation framework as well as creating, maintaining, and executing automated test case validation of existing and new scenarios. You should have a keen eye and the ability to contribute to creating test plans and test cases, and execute ways to break and validate software using software.

What You’ll Do

• Work within the engineering organization to determine a testing strategy for each feature you are working on. This includes documenting and creating test plans and the associated automated functional and integrated test cases for each feature's acceptance criteria.
• Contribute to and extend the current automation framework as needed.
• Proficient in coding in TypeScript, JavaScript, or other relevant web languages and technologies.
• Understand GitHub, Git Actions, and source code repository capabilities around CI/CD.
• Collaborate with an engineering team to accomplish testing capabilities.
• Execute, communicate test results, and maintain test cases.
• Gray and white box testing is a must.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural design reviews.
• Participate in on-call rotation.

What You’ll Bring

• B.S. in Computer Science or relevant work experience
• 3–5 years of hands-on quality assurance and SDET work experience
• Experience contributing to an automation framework and scripting technologies to automate API and UI test cases
• Creates relevant test plans and implements and executes test cases per project basis
• Root Cause Analysis capabilities and ability to review results with the engineering team
• Reports and tracks issues in JIRA and communicates updates to the team
• Proficient in white-box testing
• Familiar with Kanban, Agile, Scrum methodologies and tools like Atlassian, Slack, DataDog for troubleshooting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience testing agentic AI systems, including validating multi-step AI workflows, tool integrations, and non-deterministic outputs from large language models in production
• Experience using Claude Code for AI-assisted development, including leveraging agentic workflows to accelerate test authoring, framework development, and code reviews

Preferred Experience

• White-box testing and automation are a must
• Proficient in coding, creating automation frameworks, and supporting the engineering organization from a testing perspective
• Works with minimal supervision
