Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the project QA/QC plan.
• Ensure all construction activities follow approved drawings, specifications, method statements and quality standards.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, method statements and ITPs.
• Prepare, review and maintain ITPs, checklists, quality procedures and inspection formats.
• Conduct regular inspections of civil, architectural and finishing works at site.
• Coordinate with PMC/consultants and contractors to ensure quality requirements are integrated.
• Conduct material inspections and verify materials against specs and submittals.
• Coordinate testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, blocks, tiles, waterproofing materials and other construction materials.
• Monitor concrete pouring, cube testing, reinforcement, formwork and other critical activities.
• Ensure proper inspection of waterproofing, masonry, plastering, flooring, painting and finishing works.
• Raise and track inspection requests and ensure timely closure of observations.
• Identify non-conformities and issue NCRs; monitor corrective actions.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer / QA-QC Engineer with 10+ years of relevant experience in large-scale commercial construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring project quality systems, conducting inspections and testing, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and specifications, coordinating with PMC/consultants and contractors, and maintaining complete quality documentation throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the project Quality Assurance and Quality Control plan.
• Ensure all construction activities are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements and quality standards.
• Review project drawings, specifications, material submittals, method statements and inspection & test plans (ITPs).
• Prepare, review and maintain Inspection & Test Plans, checklists, quality procedures and inspection formats.
• Conduct regular inspections of civil, architectural and finishing works at site.
• Coordinate with MEP and other disciplines to ensure quality requirements are integrated into execution.
• Conduct material inspections and verify materials against approved technical specifications and submittals.
• Coordinate testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, blocks, tiles, waterproofing materials and other construction materials as applicable.
• Monitor concrete pouring, cube testing, reinforcement, formwork and other critical civil activities.
• Ensure proper inspection of waterproofing, masonry, plastering, flooring, painting and finishing works.
• Coordinate inspections with PMC, consultants and client representatives.
• Raise and track inspection requests and ensure timely closure of observations.
• Identify non-conformities and issue NCRs where required; monitor corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring quality issues and implement preventive measures.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor quality performance.
• Maintain quality records including inspection reports, test certificates, material approvals, NCRs, checklists and laboratory reports.

• Verify that approved materials are used at site and maintain material traceability wherever required.
• Review as-built documentation and ensure quality-related handover records are complete.
• Participate in project quality meetings and provide regular quality performance reports.
• Support project management in achieving quality, schedule and client/consultant requirements.

Quality Control Exposure

• Civil and structural works inspection.
• Reinforcement and formwork inspection.
• Concrete quality control, slump tests and cube testing.
• Material inspection and approval.
• Waterproofing inspection and testing.
• Masonry, plastering and flooring quality control.

• Required Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of construction quality management systems.
• Excellent understanding of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, method statements and checklists.
• Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural and MEP drawings.
• Knowledge of relevant IS codes, NBC and applicable project specifications.
• Experience in inspection, testing and quality documentation.
• Strong knowledge of concrete, reinforcement, formwork and finishing quality requirements.
• Experience in NCR management, root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Strong coordination skills with PMC, consultants, contractors and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage.

Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant QA/QC or project engineering experience.
• Experience in commercial buildings, IT parks, malls, high-rise buildings or large-scale construction projects preferred.
• Additional certification in QA/QC, ISO 9001 or relevant quality management systems will be an advantage.
